This Round Robin offering is wide open for interpretation and I ask only that you confine yourself to language and situations suitable for rating as PG.
Although the story provides more than a few’ jumping off places,’ I have provided Who, What, When, Where, and Why challenge questions at the end of this initial chapter to stimulate your creativity.
Your expansion of the story and advancement of the plot need not be limited to the characters that are named, which is the reason none of the on-planet personnel, the indigenous inhabitants of Q’a’ta’Orbin, the FAS (Federation Assessment Services) team, or the ‘________’ that abandoned the planet have not been predetermined. Neither have the species identifiers been established for even relief team members that are named (other than those already established in Star Trek original series). Relationship, adventure, mystery – you decide.
The hourly countdown can be significant - or not. The fist contribution may establish most of the parameters, or it may simply provide more mystery – I look forward to the results, but especially additions to the story that answer the question – Why Caledonia?

Bio: Having been a Star Trek fan since the inception of the series in 1966, I’ve marveled at the influence the show and its concept has been on the generations, philosophically and technologically, since. At school, the day after the airing of “Return of the Archons” one could not traverse the halls without encountering someone who crossed an arm over his or her chest and asked, “Are you of the body?” Most of the family are Trek fans, although some still cling to the hinges on the closet (one of which surreptitiously downloaded a sound to his cell phone so that when he flipped it open it made the familiar communicator chirp).
Since I have just returned to writing after a very long hiatus, my inventory is still limited, but growing. Working full-time and going back to school in pursuit of my Bachelor’s in Accounting doesn’t afford the time to be prolific. However, I have managed a few very short stories to share and hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Summary: The HMS Bounty crew has saved the Earth, but has returned to a planet in crisis mode. The weather has cleared, but the aftermath is still being addressed. Rescue efforts and planet-wide remediation take precedence over gratitude and ‘welcome-homes’ in the hours and days before Kirk, McCoy, Scott, Uhura, Sulu and Chekov face the charges against them.
