Summary:

Spock was clearly uncomfortable discussing "the birds and the bees" with Jim Kirk. Can you imagine how much more difficult that conversation would have been with his parents as a young boy? Once learning of the particulars of Pon Farr, Spock resolves to face it in a way that will make both his betrothed and his parents proud of him.  A Spock childhood story.

Story Notes:

Thanks to mcpehrson, who gave me the idea - literally. :-)

Even though this wasn't written specifically for the September challenge, I realized it does fit since 'on his word,' Spock resolves to face Pon Farr as a full-blooded Vulcan in order to win the approval of T'Pring and his parents.  Seems that's all he did as a child - tried to find ways to garner acceptance among his peers.
