Star Trek: The Approaching Shadow is a direct continuation of DS9, set 18 years after the Dominion War. PLEASE NOTE that this series does NOT use the universe of the DS9 Relaunch stories. Instead it is an alternate take to what happened after the ending of the Dominion war.
This is a mix of new and old, new characters with old characters. Kira, Bashir, Ezri and Odo are four of the main characters from the DS9 series (the old guard), while we introduce three new main characters: Megan, Max and Holo (two humans, and the latter being a hologram).
In this series there are storylines/plots about the Dominion, Bajor, the Romulans and the Breen. Plus I'm introducing two new major races: Vizorians and Tren. They will over the seasons (and especially from season 3) play a major role in this series development. (also look out for another new races I throw into the mix!)
Plus later on there will be stories dealing with various races: Trill, Klingons, Cardassians, plus other great races in the Star Trek universe. Not only that this series has tons of secondary characters, new and old...
The stories are nothing flashy, just carefully thought out plots and my take on what happened after DS9.
The theme for this series is Koyaanisqatsi which is the Hopi word for: life in turmoil, out of balance. Koyaanisqatsi is the one of the main inspirations for this series and as this series develops the theme of Koyaanisqatsi becomes more apparent.
Warning: This series contains mild swearing, occasional strong violence, adult situations.

Between the ENT Terra Prime and Mirror Universe episodes (about early 2156 or so) and These are the Voyages (2161 or so), there is a gap, an in between time. Note: the titles all have multiple meanings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgMa_OGHXOo These are the in between days.

ATTN TrekLit & DS9-R fans! Want to know what happened between The Soul Key and Rough Beasts of Empire? Then read Deep Space Nine Season 10!
This is my first Fan Fic project, and it's a pretty massive one, so I hope you'll indulge me, and I hope you enjoy!
As a bit of entertainment for myself, I have previously made a project out of adapting all the existing DS9 relaunch novels into screenplays, as if they were seasons 8 and 9 of the show. 26 episodes from Avatar to Unity (season 8), and 24 episodes from Unjoined to The Soul Key (season 9).
Now that the DS9-R seems to have fizzled out and people are wanting to know what happened between The Soul Key and Rough Beasts of Empire, I decided to come up with my own stories to fill the gap. Another whole 22 episodes, hence "season 10."
The stories are written in screenplay form, as if they really were TV show scripts, each episode approx 60 pages. So it's a big investment, both by me as a writer and by you as a reader. As well as posting the original text onto the board, I've formatted each episode as a PDF to download and store if you want.
During these 22 episodes, I plan on answering many of the questions TrekLit readers in general, and DS9-R readers in particular, have had ever since The Soul Key. Answers to what happened with the Dominion, the Ascendants, Dax's transfer, and lots more. Timeline-wise, episode one picks up right after the last page of The Soul Key, and by season end, we will be up to the beginning of TNG's A Time to... series.

This story arc focuses on the Mirror Universe version of Montgomery Scott, for the most part, though the side stories have a whole lot of other characters and a whole lot of people you might not expect show up. Starting with his life as a rebel engineer, and Empire-created orphan, it follows how he got 'drafted' into Empire service and the rather cold-blooded results of that, all the way through the TOS era. He starts out as the hero of the story, but in the end... well, it's very much up to the reader how they view him.
This is a violent tale, but not entirely. Like most mirror stories, there are mentions of sex, violence and lots of other stuff, but it's not really glorified and never can be called gratuitous. It is also very plot-heavy in how things tie together, hence the reading order explained below. Just remember that he was born in 2222 and you should be fine.
Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace is the main story of the arc, and stands alone. It's written in past-to-present-to-past style. The rest of the stories, from Another Man's Treasure to Inevitable are all POV pieces that enhance the main arc. Those are meant to be read in chronological order.

Recent history has not been kind to the Cardassian people. Following protracted wars with the Federation and now the Klingon Empire, the Cardassian Union has been absorbed into the Dominion with promises of greater glory than Cardassia has ever known.
Given this tumultuous history and tightly-controlled society, it is easy to look across the border and suppose the support of this alliance--and the attitudes that led Cardassia into this situation to be unanimous. But there is more to the Cardassian people than most outsiders have ever suspected.
And in the wary eyes of the Cardassians, there is more to the Federation than most of its own citizens have ever suspected. Will the Cardassian Union's darkest hour eventually lead to its finest hour?
Explore this question through the eyes of the Cardassians themselves, and those in the Federation with whom they cross paths.

In a grim alternate universe to Star Trek : The Original Series, the apocalypse is coming in the form of King Ghidorah, the three-headed monster. Worse, the creature is worshiped by the hate-filled on many Federation worlds, each of whom believes they alone will be spared when the monster comes. On Earth, they have ascended into Starfleet Command itself. The family of James T. Kirk wages a generational war to oppose this evil, but often at a high price. Among the highest are those paid by young Peter Kirk and Saavik.
rnrn
The forces of tyranny, reaction and hate do their best to destroy James Kirk, his family and his crew. The long nightmare has begun. Yet our heroes endure and their ties grow ever stronger.
